Book Review: The Return of Mrs. Jones by Jessica Gilmore

The Return of Mrs. JonesThe Return of Mrs. Jones by Jessica Gilmore
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lawrie has returned to her childhood town to regroup. She has lost her job at a law firm, her fiancee and her life plan. She goes to a place where she once felt safe and loved. She runs into her ex-husband Jonas, now a wealthy business owner. She becomes involved in his annual philanthropic event and soon sparks start to fly. Where there was once fire...

Both try to fight their obvious feelings, not to mention their deep attraction. But soon, they are giving in and enjoying the what the freedom of a summer fling can bring them.

There are a lot of romance stories out there. And lately, it seems I have been reading a lot of sappy and horribly written ones. This one I liked. I liked the main characters and I liked their story. Their original separation story was very realistic and genuine. The books is actually well written and well edited. I do believe the author missed a lot of opportunities to create a deeper connection or pursue some obvious sources of potential (this happened many times and it was frustrating). But, overall, this is a good book in which to lose yourself one afternoon.
