Book Review: The Marriage Wager by Jane Ashford

The Marriage Wager by Jane Ashford
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The Marriage WagerEmma is a widow that has been living abroad. Colin is an officer returning from war. Both have a troubled past. Thanks to a wager that Emma loses they get tangled in a compromising situation resulting in a marriage of convenience. Together they embark in a story of some intrigue, some insta-love, a lot of boredom plus some more boredom.

I was incredibly bored during the entirety of this book and had to force myself to finish it. The characters are mature, exhibit some sort of passion that is more stated by the author than shown. The 'dangerous' situations seemed so trivial, so boring. Pass.
