Book Review: Forbidden Mind by Kimberly Kinrade

Forbidden Mind (Forbidden Trilogy, #1)Forbidden Mind by Kimberly Kinrade
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Samantha (Sam) can read minds. She is a teenager who “works” (read: is enslaved) for a company that rents out her services to the highest bidder. She is a paranormal spy. Upon her return from the latest assignment she starts discovering that things are not as she thought. She also learns about Drake, another paranormal, who will be linked to her present and future. She thinks she will be set free upon majority of age, but that’s not quite the case.

Forbidden Mind has an interesting premise and pretty good execution for such short a book. The book did need more development. The characters needed to be explored and developed. The great majority of characters needed further development and some back story. For the next book, I hope the author takes the time to really develop the plot and further explore the character’s personalities and stories. A good 50 extra pages would be beneficial for this book.

The story is good and has a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the premise and the characters. Well, at last the ones that were somewhat explored. Although Drake is a major character, we know very little about him.

Readers should give this book a try. It is a good and interesting story. It is my hope that the rest of the series is further developed.

*I received this book for free from the author for the purposes of this review.
