Book review: The Friday Night Club by Jacob Nelson Laurie

The Friday Night Club, A Novel

It took me a long time to read "The Friday Night Club". Months to be exact. It also took me weeks to write the review as I pondered what I would write. Every time I picked up the book I felt a little bit more disappointed in the author's depiction of men. The main character, Davis, is so unlikable that I just didn't want to keep reading. The main character was melodramatic whiney, annoying, fake, irresponsible and unable to accept blame. He made excuses for his constant cheating cause he didn't quite think it was that bad since he and his girlfriend were living together. Really?

The writing is decent but the structure of the book is downright annoying with shifting between past and present every other page. It is very distracting. I was semi-liking, cause it was at least engaging, this book up until the end. The ending is so unsatisfying and downright forced that it turned me off the book.

*Disclaimer*I received this book free from the author for the purposes of a review.
