This is a very useful guide to learn about Limited Liability Companies (LLCs). I am a lawyer and due to a recent job change, I felt I needed a quick refresher on LLCs and other types of companies. I could either read my law books (yawn) or this Nolo guide. The Nolo guide is very well written. It explains in a simple, yet thorough, manner the basic knowledge you need about LLCs.
As the writer explains, this is not a How to form an LLC guide, it is an informational guide, ripe with examples, of LLC governance. It explains, through narrative and examples, the different types of companies you can from (besides an LLC); the types of problems you may encounter and possible solutions to those problems through the LLC.
If you are unsure as to what type of company you want to form, this is a very good book to read. This is also a good book to brush up on some Business Organizations knowledge or just to learn a little about them.
